Infertility is an unpredictable road to walk. It can be lonely, confusing, and disappointing among other things. Some days, moving forward seems impossible. Infertility can feel like getting stuck in quicksand. One day, you are walking along not knowing any trouble lay ahead. Suddenly, you are stuck. You can not do anything to change your situation and the more you struggle, the deeper you sink.
Proverbs 13:12 says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” Is your heart sick because your hope for a child keeps getting deferred month after month? I can relate.
There is a hope that is unshakable. You can possess a hope that prevents your heart from growing sick. It comes from a choice to surrender to and trust in the goodness of God. Your unmet desires will not succeed in luring your heart to despair when your hope is in God, and not the desire for a child. Redirecting your hope is where the rubber meets the road.
You were not meant to walk alone. This book was written with your joy and freedom in mind. As I share lessons I have learned through my own seasons of infertility, I pray that you find the encouragement you need to live with an unwavering hope on a daily basis.
